It turns out it was just as well Joe and his crew couldn’t come up today. Andy and Peter found a design flaw when they looked at how to attach the plumbing to the panels. It turns out they’ll have to raise the frames two inches off the supports in order for the plumbing to work.
Andy ordered the new parts as soon as he got home yesterday, and with any luck they will be here in about a week. In the meantime Peter will continue working on the plumbing, and two of the guys will come up tomorrow to finish lowering the top row of cross pieces and do other little things. Then it’s keeping our fingers crossed that the parts will get here, the weather will hold, etc.
Any delays in your life lately?
Amazon India arranged for a third party delivery of a book for me. This was done on the 4th of November and the third party handed over the parcel to a reputed courier company on the 5th of November and I got a text message on my phone giving me a tracking number which showed that the parcel reached Pune on the 6th of November. I wanted to gift that book to a friend who was to come on the 8th and at the last moment I had to get something else for him. After much following up with Amazon India, the book was delivered today and I have invited my friend again for coffee later this evening. On a query from the third party about my satisfaction with the transaction, I have responded that they should not use the same courier again.
That’s too bad, since it was almost there. It’s like the new UPS fellow deciding not to leave our package that time. I’m glad your present finally got there.
Wouldn’t life be boring without all these adjustments? LOL 😀 We have to look on the bright side.
I don’t like delays. When I want something I want it N O W!
Yes, we have plenty of problems/adjustments to keep us amused. 😀
Oh boy.
It’s too bad, but Andy never designed a system like this one before, so we’re not completely surprised. Hopefully it won’t put the completion off until next year.
yup.
i’m with bhb. i tend to want it NOW.
still working on that. whether it’s totally healing . . . or a culvert that can’t keep the road from flooding! i’m so impressed with all your hard work there. it seems to finally be coming along… especially with the new BIG one beside the smaller one!
now just the plumbing and solar panels to go!
i loved your trip to see torben and kaitlin and puppies. i envied your wonderful 25 hour train ride! and the neat room. straight out of the movies!
as you can see . . . i’m catching up with your blog after being asleep through all of october! i have so much wonderful reading to do on everyone’s.
like visiting little novels everywhere.
XOXO
One thing about having the land for 37 years, we have learned patience. 😀
You have been busy catching up! We’re so glad you’re back in business. We were worried.
only big delay is the “personal me” who has a lot of little jobs that need my attention, some more urgent than others – although really nothing really urgent…
I had thought of a To Do list then I thought I put probably need to buy a whole roll of lining paper and then it would take me as long as say six jobs to write it 🙂
Your list is a lot longer than mine! And I don’t have To Do lists. For me, they’re Possibility Lists. More carefree, less demanding.
