Andy finally had his appointment with the sleep doctor yesterday. He doesn’t have sleep apnea, but he does have restless leg syndrome (RLS). Most people move their legs about five times an hour while sleeping — he moved his about 175 times an hour. That was a big surprise because he seldom has the funny feelings in his legs usually associated with the problem. At least they have an idea of some things to try now, so the study was a good idea.
Please wish him luck!
Here is wishing Andy all the best for a solution to his problem.
Being who I am I hope that he won’t mind me asking him if it could be a subconscious desire to be foot loose!
😀
If you don’t like walks or jogging, this is a good solution. 🙂
😀 I tend to get a lot of exercise while sleeping too. I wake up refreshed, but the bed clothes are a shambles. Maybe I should rig up a video camera to see what’s going on.
LOL bkb 🙂
The things we do when we are asleep but at least you have a ballpark figure to work with…
Good luck Andy and Jean on having a solution put on the table to help move life to a gentler night pace 🙂
Thanks. I do hope they can come up with a way for him to get more sleep. He does have a prescription for sleep medicine (generic version of Ambien), but for obvious reasons doesn’t want to take it very often. I have a prescription, too, but on the rare occasions I have trouble sleeping I forget that I have it.
Is there anything they can do for it?
They checked to be sure his iron levels are in the right range. If they’re not too low, they have some drugs to try.
Best of luck with possible treatments. Amazing that he moves his legs so much during the night but was totally unaware of it!
