Nice Visit

In previous visits when Kaitlin and Torben slept up on the land it was too cloudy for them to get a good view of the stars and the Milky Way. Friday night was clear and dark, so Andy and they went up there for the experience. An added bonus was when they were driving back a rabbit ran across the road, followed by a big white owl. That was unusual. They also some elk, but we’re used to that by now.

Yesterday we all went up to the land. Andy had to do a few things on the roof:

Then we all went for a leisurely walk:

As usual, we’re having a pleasant and relaxing visit, with plenty of time for talking.

Good that you are having fun. Your photographs clearly indicate how crisp the air there must be.

Andy ‘s pic. on the roof reminds me of saying to a child “Peekaboo, I see you.” Kaitlin & Torben with hands behind back reminds me that I do that to make good posture–if I ever think to do it.

    andy is brave!
is the trampoline helping your walks in the uneven and high terrain?
i’m thinking you must be in pretty good shape to do that!

Yes, Andy is a lot braver than I am! I have trouble walking on uneven terrain, especially when the rocks are loose. So I walk very slowly and carefully. Today was worse because part of the road has crevasses up to 6 to 8 feet deep and 2 to 3 feet across. Andy easily jumps across them, but I always ask for a hand, just in case. We come back a steeper but easier way. I have more trouble seeing now than I used to, and I tend to get dizzy for some reason.

Andy and his roof – I guess it will be a regular thing now, going up on his beloved roof “just in case” – maybe you need to get him a feather duster as well 🙂 – Boys and their toys scenario…

My guess he’ll stop going on the roof once the solar heating system is working. As usual, we’ll just have to see. 🙂
