    Definitely. Just wandering around at first is hugely important to get the general feel of things. And trying out stuff is how you learn what the stuff is about.

    It’s only where something is known exhaustively that pre-set stuff is any use.

      I agree wholeheartedly. That’s why I’ve done most of my learning by self-study instead of taking courses. It’s a lot more effective and a lot more fun.

      As you know, I learned that at an early age. Yay, retirement! I managed to spend a lot more of my life playing than working. At times I’ve been called lazy, at other times a workaholic. It was the same thing — if it’s not fun it doesn’t count. And if it is fun, do it with gusto.
