In comments to yesterday’s post, bikehikebabe argued that cats are better than dogs. It doesn’t matter one way or the other — it’s whatever touches our hearts. As I’ve said, I have several blogs I check every day for my doggy fix.
Yesterday Angus at Bob and Sophie’s French Adventure linked to the Dog Bark Park Inn, a bed and breakfast in Idaho, where guests stay in the one suite available — inside “the world’s biggest beagle.”
People come from all over to stay in it. Angus is originally from Scotland, and he’s now living in France. How did he hear of it? In a response to a comment he does say, “Who could resist a place that’s been written up in the ‘SAAB Owners Magazine’ ?” Anyway, it’s a quirky enough idea — and there are enough dog lovers in the world — for it to be a success.
The Dog Bark Park also has a gift shop — both on the premises and online — which among other things sells chainsaw sculptures of dogs. I’m sure a lot of people would look down their noses at the idea of chainsaw “art”, but it warms my heart to know that this couple is making a living doing what they love. What more could one ask for?

Amazing how people make livings!
Yes. So many people don’t like their jobs. It’s refreshing to hear about people who do something about it.
i too followed that link from angus!
we have a chainsaw artist here in our city. he is not as primitive as the wonderful dogs above. i think of them as primitive style. or what is it they call it? folk art?
he does people and animals. you’d be amazed at his detail. one he does is of a soldier.
he turns trees that have been half destroyed by tornadoes or ice or such into art.
not everyone’s cup of tea. nor is it mine really. but nevertheless quite amazing.
This couple uses dead trees and they use the sawdust for compost and burn the remains for heat. Yay, them!
That’s amazing.
Yes. It’s imaginative and warms my heart.
