Cherry tree planted last year.

Lilacs, recovering nicely from the 2011 fire.
Needless to say, we are happy to see them.

They are beautiful and I am delighted for you too.
Thanks. Our area is clearly not as lush as yours!
Boy, they are coming along quite nicely for sure. Anytime you get blooms and/or flowers you know you’re doing something right! 🙂
Either doing something right or being lucky. Either way, we’ll take it!
i think those people who live in mild climates with lush rainfall and not desert winds and such . . . and those that are used to gardens full of flowers . . .
well. i think they may not realize the true joy that just a few hard won blooms can give!
little beauties of sheer survival!
they’re lovely monk! so happy for you!
I agree. We appreciate the plants so much because they do have to struggle.
Kudos to the LILACS which RECOVERED from the fire. 🙂
Also the birch tree:
Andy’s folks brought them both from Montana years ago, so they have special meaning for us.
beautiful explosion in the desolate place – hopefully forest will sprout again as well..
It will be a long time, but we are celebrating all the new growth.
