The Bullets and Burgers Adventure is a private outdoor range set in a stunning outdoor desert landscape. We separate ourselves from all other Las Vegas ranges with our unique ‘Desert Storm’ atmosphere and military style bunkers….
Our guests have the opportunity to fire a wide range of fully automatic machine guns and specialty weapons. You will choose the guns which you want to shoot from our extensive collection and we provide the eye/ear protection, ammunition, and expert guidance.
—Bullets and Burgers
Apparently it’s a top-rated tourist attraction in the Las Vegas area. It’s the place where a nine-year-old girl lost control of an Uzi submachine gun when it recoiled and killed the instructor. The incident happened Monday, but it didn’t dissuade all parents. Here’s a review of the place posted yesterday.
This is a great place for young children to learn to fire Uzis. With this kind of training, kids will never have to worry about bullying in school.

Why does that make me feel uncomfortable?
August 28, 2014
that news of the instructor being killed all over our news… including the parents were taping the instruction and there didn’t seem to be any problem with any of it…
it seems so sad that you have to be armed and know how to fire a weapon at that age to curtail bullying…
I don’t know if the reviewer was serious or just pulling our leg. I do think bullying should be curtailed.
What was the reaction in NZ?
Why only you? It makes me sick. Can you imagine what the child will grow up with?
It does seem crazy. Here’s Borowitz’s reaction.
I only just heard about it this morning and only minimal facts. In my view, the only people who be trained on fully automatic weapons and the only place they should get such training is in the military. Firearms are a poor choice for learning how to stop bullying. Unarmed martial arts would be better — not so much for the ability to defend one’s self, but, rather for the discipline and improved self confidence that can result.
I agree about teaching martial arts. I think the shooting range is just supposed to be exciting entertainment.
A terrible story. We Brits are just constantly bemused by the US fixation on guns, and all the accidental deaths and injuries they cause. Why a nine year old was being taught to fire a machine gun is beyond me. And as Mike says, surely the answer to bullying is something like martial arts rather than owning a lethal weapon?
I’m not surprised that other countries think we’re crazy!
“The only people who should be trained on fully automatic weapons and the only place they should get such training is in the military.” —But it’s horrible that we use war to solve national problems too.
Unfortunately that’s not about to change soon. 🙁
OMG really?? A gun to fend off bullies? An Uzi no less!
Don’t they think that the bullies just might be “packin'” too? What a message to send out.
I can only see heartache for the families.
What a world we live in now…
Again, I don’t think the idea of the shooting range was to teach people how to handle bullies. I do think the reviewer who made the comment about Uzis and bullies was either trying to shock us or was crazy. He succeeded in getting a reaction from me!
The whole entire thing makes me uncomfortable. Sometimes I believe that a large contingent of our population is completely insane. Who would send their child to a camp like that?
