Windy

It was windy Sunday, so Andy wasn’t surprised that he had to remove trees from across the road yesterday.

Tree 1

Trees 4 and 5.

Trees 6 and 7.

Tree 8.

By the time he had finished the eighth tree he had traveled about a mile along the dirt road, with five miles more to go. He stopped for the day because he wanted to get back by 12:30 so he could go to the matinee of the last Hobbit movie. He was almost done for the day anyway, because he was getting tired, and it’s dangerous to use chainsaws when (1) you’re tired, and (2) you’re all alone in the mountains.

It was windy again yesterday — with gusts up to 66 miles per hour, so he expects there will be plenty more trees waiting for him today.

It is not very windy but there is a cold breeze that generates a draft inside the homes. Yesterday, I was up in the hills and it was windy there but it was also sunny and bright and was quite an enjoyable outing. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/pune/At-8-3-degrees-C-Pune-records-lowest-temp-of-seaso/articleshow/45609785.cms

    good grief monk.
i’m really thinking that the rule for andy on that mountain is the same for someone swimming alone.
don’t do it. always have a buddy along.
sounds more like our winds here on the prairie!
too bad the state couldn’t (at their expense of course) take all the dead trees along the road down. so nothing could fall so easily into the road. ah well.
we know THAT’S not going to happen! LOL.

He could have run the car over all those trees except Trees 3 & 5 & 8. But what the heck, the road would look messy & I agree we don’t want that. Besides Andy needs the work. 😀

Ah, but he didn’t take the picture of 6 and 7 until he was almost finished. And he doesn’t just want to get up there now, he’s planning ahead for if he needs to plow.

I agree with Tammy – he needs a buddy.

There must be some other retirees in the neighbourhood would love to be doing something practical – like removing trees, being involved with some of Andy’s work/decisions…

I remember when a woman know, her husband retired and he was always under her feet, this after he had repaired all those things he never got around to…so he teamed up with some 5 others, they bought a rundown house and renovated it and then sold it on – buying another etc. As one person left the group another was waiting…the guys “went out to work” a couple of days a week and thoroughly enjoyed the company and the retirement – the woman had her house to herself again…

Wow, that’s a lot of trees for one day…
    I third the buddy system.
Your Andy must be a fit fella – the country is better (on mind and body) than paying for a gym 🙂

Wishing you a peaceful, happy, safe season and all the best for 2015!
