We had a great day yesterday. Plenty of visiting, a nice walk, and Kaitlin and Torben measured the windows for energy-efficient Hunter Douglas blinds.
We’ll go down this morning to try to get an estimate to see if we can afford them this year.
And yesterday evening Kaitlin and Torben did most of the work making the train and motel reservations for our visit to see them next fall. Getting the right dates for the train wasn’t guaranteed since Andy and I want a bedroom, so getting the matter settled is a great relief off my mind. Bless them!
I hope your weekend was great too.

It was indeed. With the daughter in law on a sabbatical, the house was unusually energetic and full of activity.
How long will she be on sabbatical? Your house does sound lively!
OH! a sleeper on the train! i’m pea green with envy!
and btw . . .
look at those views from the cabin. WOW.
xo
I read that wrong(ly). You’re so good at LOLOL I thought you said, “I pee green with envy.”
Andy refuses to fly, and it takes three days to drive to see Kaitlin and Torben, so the train is expensive but worth it. We’re way too old to sleep in coach. We’ve been going to see them every other year — so far twice by train.
I actually would prefer a magic wand. 🙂
Fancy (the blinds). Pronounced FAN-CEEEE!
I like the windows with no curtains or blinds, but a lot of heat escapes this time of year. Hunter Douglas honeycomb blinds are the best way to add some R value with a minimum amount of ruining the view.
oh bhb! LOLOL. there ya go.
did you know you’re a keeper! 😀
I agree!
I wish we had proper sleeper trains…but then again we don’t really have “long distance” type tracks…
Remind me, when was the weekend…all the days flow into nothing right now. Sometimes I have to look at my cell phone to decipher which actual day it is.
Anyway, it’s January 2 (evening) now and the last of the Silly Season public holidays are done. We have 2 for Xmas and New Year. The weather rained upon the parade of fireworks at midnite on the 31st/1st but the next morning it back to sun, and more sun…simply lovely!
