That’s weird, the panda lunging at the other one up in the tree. And he/she seems to have no difficulty standing on two legs! Perhaps they’re just bored sitting in their pen all day and they want a bit of excitement?
Surely that’s just a little bit of friendly jostling, not least as observed between kittens, any sort of litter. A sort of practicing for a true emergency. Or, as Nick so sweetly suggests, a way of obliterating boredom without going for the jugular.
What I find disturbing about this video clip, and do correct me if my hearing is letting me down, is the HUMAN racket in the backround, cheering them on, with one child(?) in particular: “Fight, Fight, Fight!”
wonderful monk!
i went on to watch the pbs documentary on ‘the panda baby hua mei’ from the slection of choices it always gives after the video.
it was 53 minutes long and worth EVERY minute!
they play like that… like puppies that wrestle and gnaw on each other!
it’s not mean at all. the documentary is so uplifting. we’ve come so far in helping this beautiful endangered animal.
what a treat this was.
THANKS! xo

Apparently even adults with tussle over resources. No one seems to get hurt here.

I turned the volume down because it was distracting. You may very well be right.
We can if the politicos everywhere get out of the way.
I doubt it. There’s plenty of violence in areas with anarchy.
