We actually went up to the land again last night — this time after dinner, to see the supermoon-lunar eclipse. Beate and Tim had suggested we meet on our front porch up there because the view was so great. Here’s what it looked like with our point-and-shoot camera:
It was another clear evening, and we watched the moon disappear as we drove up, and we could see it gradually come back as we drove back down. But the best part, of course, is when it was in the total eclipse and had the reddish-orange glow.
How cool was that?

Very cool indeed. Must have been lovely.
We were lucky that the sky was clear and that the eclipse wasn’t too late in the night. Beate and Tim might see the next one in 2033, but it’s not likely Andy and I will.
We looked at the post just past midnight and were happy that you made it home safely. Thanks for letting us sit on your porch, the view was indeed spectacular!
Thank you for suggesting it. 🙂
the thought of the four of you on the porch … watching that beautiful moon
in those quiet mountains … well.
just wonderful. that’s all.
wonderful all the way around! xo
Yes, it was extremely peaceful. And adventuresome at the same time. I’m so glad Beate and Tim suggested it.
That really is cool, we didn’t get to see it here, too many clouds — Maybe next time! 🙂
Clouds can be frustrating at times like this. 🙁
looks gorgeous but lonely in the sky…
my neighbour was talking about some very clear and large moon overhead here this last week, but my week has been so busy I probably was out or asleep
