Kaitlin sent these pictures of Sammy and Montana. 🙂
It’s play time for Andy and me, too. We opened our presents this morning, then he went up to the land to build a fire, take a little walk, and work on his electronics. Tonight he will no doubt start reading his Christmas science fiction. If the clouds lift enough we will take advantage of the full moon to drive up to see our Christmas lights first. It’s not a big deal if it doesn’t work out, just an adventure if it does.
I’m playing down here with two of my present projects — (1) revising my exercise routines to make them more effective and enjoyable, and (2) doing a bit of sketching every day. That may not sound like much fun, but I’m having a grand time playing with these changes. I used to ask,
How can I get this (these) done and enjoy the process?
But thanks to tammy and Cathy, who have negative associations with the term “process”, I now ask,
How can I have fun doing this?
Yes! That resonates. I know how to do that.
However you’re spending your day, I hope you’re enjoying it. Merry Christmas!

Fun. What a lovely portmanteau word, and how much easier to deal with than “process”. Around here, the “Seattle process” makes people laugh; it usually means nothing will get done –except, of course, if one thinks talking is “doing”.
Merry Christmas to you , too. And how lucky to have snow. The mountain passes are closed because of snow, but we’re having rain only.
I like sunny or rainy Christmases too, but as the saying goes, I made my own sunshine. It was a good day. 🙂
p.s. am I in trouble now? Portmanteau word, hmm. I just wanted to indicate a word with lots packed in it.
It is rich with associations.
I haven’t decided on a present to me yet – I would dearly love a smart phone but I don’t understand the gadgets that come with them – have enough trouble with the laptop…
Friends will help but not this week – most are all tied up with family and holidays. One today asked me what my budget was? err ?budget, didn’t say anything because I know that means – no smartphone basically. His wife said when he mentioned in the $200 mark – “oh she will need a mini” – to me that means “forget it!”
The trouble with smart phones is you need a data plan, which can be expensive. We would be happy if Andy could always text me reliably.
I hope you find a gift that warms your heart. 🙂
oh those adorable puppies!
and yes. i think of sammy as one too.
his smile just warms my heart.
it’s raining here now. a beautiful day in every way then.
the corners are lighted.
i’m leaving the little fairy lights on that shine from the balcony.
i like to see them in the rain.
happy boxing day monk! LOLOL!
I think of Sammy as a pup too.
I’m so happy you’re getting rain. And that you’re cozy in your little wren house. 🙂 Here it’s cold and dreary outside, but there’s plenty of sunshine in my little apartment. Yay, inner puppies and sunshine!
Oh! I love seeing the photos of your grand-dogs!
So sweet!
Merry Christmas!
I’ve been reading the book “Daily Painting” and I’ve only just started but loving and learning so much all ready!
I’m so excited and I just know this coming year will be an adventure!
I have so many plans! Thank you!
Xoxoxo
When I saw the book I thought of you — I’m looking forward to seeing what you do in 2016. And of buying something from you! 🙂
I am glad that you and Andy are having a grand time this Christmas as are Kaitlin. Sammy and Montana. I too had a grand time with my sister visiting along with her son, daughter in law and their two delightful little girls. They stayed from the 24th and I have just returned from escorting my sister off to Mumbai while I spent some time with my cousin and his wife enroute. All in all quite an enjoyable break from my regular rhythm.
I’m glad you had a good time.
