Productive Day

Andy ended up getting the road plowed today. He didn’t plan it that way, but Orlando got Kris Luster and his snowplow to get the truck unstuck. That was about a quarter of a mile from the main highway, and Kris plowed the road on the way to the truck. Then the truck got stuck again (don’t ask) a couple hundred feet from the house. So when they contacted Kris he plowed the rest of the road on his way to the rescue.

He was so close to the house that he finished the job.

We’re hoping we don’t get much snow until after next weekend. As you can see from these pictures, the snow is getting high on the sides of the road, and there is little place to put new snow.

So Andy and Orlando are hoping to get some equipment next weekend to push the piles off the road. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

WOW – that looks magnificent – if it was just for viewing from afar but up close and personal for Andy and others at your place – just not so grand…

I’m happy to process and look at the pictures, but Andy seemed happy when he got home last night, which is what I care most about.

Nice images! It looks like this is a good year for the snow pack for New Mexico. From what I hear, that’s also true for other western states. It’s needed.

We’re getting more not-so-needed rain and it may get cold enough that we’ll get a small amount of snow. 😉

    • Jean says:

Yes, we really need the moisture. Last spring and summer were good too. The fruit trees loved it, and the lush vegetation helped stop the flash flooding.

  3. Seems like the snow plow is worth its weight in gold! I know that in the “olden days”, before snowplows were a staple of road maintenance, people used to just wait until things thawed in order to get out. It was not pleasant, but it was accepted as a fact of life!

    My fingers are crossed!

i love watching those big machines work.
    here they move EARTH.
what wonderful moisture you’re getting to help create even more life there.
we will watch how the forest renews itself after those terrible fires.
it’s like having a front row seat! thank you and andy both!
    and monk…
we had our own snow this morning! i awoke to it. and for ONCE…
NO hours of ice first! just a beautiful light snow over everything. it’s wonderful and so beautiful. and it will be gone in a couple of days.

I’m happy about your snow. 🙂 And, yes, the machines are fun to watch. I’m curious to see what/if Orlando rents next weekend.

As long as Andy stays safe I do love the pictures and stories he brings home. 🙂

Wow, thank god for that plow!
I am so sick of winter already and we don’t have snow like you do.
Just a light layer but it’s sub-zero windshields.
I love the stories but I’d worry about Andy too.
    That snow looks frightening.
