Watermelon Cupcakes

Andy pointed out this cake mix at the store the other day. I love watermelon, but not cake, so I’ll pass on it. On the other hand, if Kaitlin were still young I would probably buy it just for fun — the idea brings back some wonderful memories. How times have changed.

Do you think it will be a success with other people?

    It looks icky to me.
    :p
I think it would be tastier to just use food coloring and drop in tiny chocolate chips for seeds.
I think kids (and adults) might think that the “look” of it is cute but they’d prefer the taste of vanilla and chocolate.
Besides, watermelon is all about the refreshing coolness and texture not about cake. LOL!

      totally with cindi here!
it’s that icy cold crunchy freshness of watermelon that is just sublime!
the cupcake wouldn’t do that for me.
though the idea is cute. and kids would probably love them.
i’m not usually fond of a fake anything! LOLOL.
I do like cake though. just don’t ever eat it much nowadays.

My first reaction was, “Yuck!” But then I thought of the kids. I have no idea what the flavor would be like, and I don’t intend to find out. 🙂

The two words “Artificially Flavored” straight away puts me off and I am sure will many others too. In any case, I believe that the best way to eat a watermelon is to eat it in its natural form.

Wrong! This is just wrong! I have very weak taste buds so texture is important. This would feel nothing like watermelon!

It is amazing how many different flavors they make now. Just look at Oreos! I agree if I were a kid again it would be fun to try.

There were a lot of other flavors for cakes at the store tonight. My first reaction to the watermelon mix was “yuck!”, but then I thought of when you were little. Then it would have been, “Sure, why not? Sounds like fun.”

We did buy Father some white cupcakes with colorful frosting tonight. For some reason they’re advertising “A Taste of Spain”, so he checked to make sure they hadn’t put garlic in them. 🙂

I suppose it has merit but I can’t see it…
