Here’s picture from my bedroom window yesterday morning. Notice the small pine tree in the lower left of the picture.
Expanded view of the little tree:
Same tree, a couple of hours later:
Needless to say, the snow won’t last very long down here, but it will take longer up on the land. Down here we had about 7″, up there about a foot.
Andy had to use chains starting at the fire station.
The drift in front of the house was impressive:
Here’s a picture of the Limber pine Beate and Tim gave us a couple of years ago.
Andy chose not to plow — he thinks the snow will melt off the roads in a few days. Then, of course, we will have another short mud season.

WoW I think that’s really crazy – weather is just crazy – fullstop!
It’s back to almost summertime here, the days look like they might not warm up – but then you are taking of extraordinary amount of layers!
It’s hard when the temperature changes a lot during the day. All those layers can be a nuisance after you start taking them off and still have to carry them.
SEVEN inches!!!
you need to get you some cross country skis!
it’s so beautiful.
but… still…
it’s SPRING NM !!! get with the program! XOXO
p.s.
I LOVE the view from your window! oh my goodness.
I had cross country skis years ago, but I eventually gave them away. They’re fun when the terrain is flat, but I tended to fall when the slopes got too steep. Not a good thing to do now. 🙂
How nice it would be if it would do that here. We are wilting in the summer of record breaking temperatures.
I don’t envy you your heat!
Here in Texas, we’ve been dealing with floods instead of snow. Fortunately, we’re okay and so are our daughters, but my youngest’s previous home was on the news, under several feet of water.
I’ve read about the floods. Somehow I don’t think of flooding there, except from hurricanes along the coast. I’m glad you and your family are safe.
Weather! What can we say? We had the air conditioning on yesterday because it was warm enough here in Minnesota to check it out. Tonight we will run the furnace because my Dave doesn’t like to sleep in a cold room. When we lived full-time in an RV we discussed living in Arizona once we were done touring because you can be fairly comfortable year around by just moving from the desert up into the mountains then back down again. But, Minnesota called too loudly to Dave so here we are again.
From what I’ve heard those Minnesota winters are fierce!
Oh, my! It is so beautiful, but you must be getting very tired of it! Especially Andy, who has been clearing it for months. Oh, well, as you say, it doesn’t last long..
It’s almost all gone down here and is melting fast up on the land, so we’re just happy we got the precipitation.
Oh NO!
Not snow.
We had high 70’s this weekend.
It’s been in the 60’s the last few days.
I’d be happy with those temps for the majority of time.
It was fun because we knew it wouldn’t last long.
