Too true. It explains why Trump has so many supporters — lot of people are fed up and outraged and want real change.
The situation in the Philippines is even worse according to Siren song of the strongmen — In a presidential race, a thuggish mayor leads the polls. A lot of people there are fed up too, and the front runner promises to break the gridlock, even at the expense of human rights and rule of law. It’s scary stuff.

mob rule mentality is always scary to me.
we have been building to a seething mass of outrage and polarity for years now.
perhaps one should study the french revolution or the roman empire to see where and how this will all be played out. history … wash rinse repeat!
these cartoonists say more in a few boxes than all the pontificating talking heads that are paid thousands!
just read the link.
chilling.
especially the end… and the references to marcos.

The conflict between the super rich and the poor is being played out in San Francisco now. The latest is a tech CEO bullying low income vendors by his home.
One man, even the POTUS cannot do much. The whole system needs to be overhauled everywhere where there is the so called democracy.
Lots of luck reforming the system. It will be interesting to see how the protests in Baghdad play out.
what is wrong with the civilized world? we have made no progress.
people are acting and reacting worse than two year olds.
i agree with one of the replies to that sanctimonious rich tech ceo bully … “disgusting!”
As I recall when Gandhi was asked what he thought of Western civilization, he answered, “It would be nice.” It appears progress is too much to hope for.
Jesse Ventura, the wrestler, once ran for governor of Minnesota. I asked a friend why anyone would vote for Jesse. My friends asked if I knew what we’d get if I voted Republican or if I voted Democrat. He said no one knows what we’ll get if we vote for Jesse but we know it will be different. I voted for Jesse. It was different and some of that different was very good indeed.
I need to say I will NOT be voting for Trump. I don’t trust him with that much power.
Unfortunately I don’t trust Clinton either, but I won’t vote for Trump. I’ll probably vote against both. Gary Johnson will be on the ballot too.
It is very scary stuff. I don’t know what to think of Lucifer dropping out of the race tonight… but I’m worried about what’s happening on the GOP side.
It should be a wake-up call, but there’s no guarantee the GOP elites will pay attention.
Sigh…
At least Cruz is gone.
