It does go on all the time, everywhere! We look at the condo towers going up in this city and wonder, who’s going to buy all those? But they doโcondo buildings don’t stay empty very long. Currently, they are tailored to attract Millennials, who are the largest generational group ever, and who have the best jobs in the IT industry.
I recently read something about hawaii that I hadn’t ever known.
and it made me very happy.
every beach and water front is open to the public.
free to walk on by anyone.
here the wealthy buy up the beachfronts as well as their property…
lined with gated community condos.
it will soon be that you can’t even get to the water I guess.
I love how cartoonists drive a strong nail with a velvet hammer.
humor wins every time.
It’s very sad indeed.
I live in Illinois and the state is in very deep debt.
Nothing is getting paid.
It’s pitiful.
I just found out from someone that there is talk of selling the land of several small parks in the county.
Just little green spaces about town where the kids can go and play, are going to be sold and something stupid will be built on it.
I really question if I should stay in this state. My sister said they are moving as soon as her husband retires.
๐
even in NZ – the spaces are being gobbled up – bigger, higher and wider…
this especially in my City where apparently it’s only place to work/live/play ๐
my own little suburb is finding itself in high-rise – more roads with more traffic lights. Neighbourly is having more dialogue about traffic issues – asking authorities to ban street parking in some of main throughfares – as it slows & clogs up the traffic!
the street I live on is becoming more of a racetrack/short cut – it avoids quite a lot of t/lights…

All these new people have to go somewhere, and it helps to have money.
Sadly, this is the situation here in India too. But the dark humour is appealing.
Raeside is remarkable because he doesn’t make it seem so dark. He doesn’t rant.

Good for Hawaii! They’re being smart in the long run.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re being affected too. It is sad.
