hard for me to believe… but I haven’t flown since before 9/11.
not because I’ve avoided it really. there just wasn’t ever an opportunity.
but now… after observing and hearing all the horror stories of the process…
I think I’ll pass!
now a nice trip on a train… like you and andy take… YES!!! sign me up!
Funny, I’ve never had any serious problems with airport security or customs in North America, although I’ve been all over the States and all over Canada. Perhaps I was just lucky. The longest queue I’ve ever faced was when Jenny and I arrived in Adelaide a few years back. It took us 1½ hours to get through customs. We thought we’d never get out of the airport.
I just heard on the News that people are supposed to arrive 3 hours before their flight!
Luckily I do’t have to fly anywhere because I have no patience.
Now a train trip? Maybe.
And by car? that depends on who’s driving! LOL!
The last time I flew I was marked as precheck. That was wonderful! The next time, if there is a next time, I will be riding a TravelScoot (small electric scooter). I wonder what impact that will have on TSA?
How did precheck work? Did you have to pay for the privilege? I’m sorry that you might need a TravelScoot if you ever fly again. Do you have to travel to see your children and grandchildren?

Yes, the train is much more pleasant. 🙂
It is not as bad here. There is tight security checking, but the process is fairly efficient.
Are the seats there getting as cramped as they are here?

Apparently you’ve been lucky!

Three hours?! Wow!
I watch it all on TV with sympathy for all those travelers, and I’m grateful I’m not going anywhere near an airport anytime soon!
I agree!

In the planes, yes. And also in the waiting lounges the crowds can be intimidating.
And now they’re taking away more and more of the leg room on the plane. No thanks.
I don’t know the system here, so I can’t comment, and I haven’t flown anywhere for a few years, and that was internal…
Apparently even the internal flights are bad here. We haven’t flown in years so don’t have first-hand experience.
