This cartoon would probably resonate with some dissatisfied voters this year. It reminds me of Bill Clinton’s campaign slogan when he was running against George H. W. Bush in 1992: “The economy, stupid!” The recession and lack of jobs was the main reason for Bush’s loss, Clinton’s win. And the present recession and the one-sidedness of the recovery is a big reason for the current political mess.

Here we have an option NOTA. None Of The Above. Just imagine what it does to politicians’ egos when these are counted! In the recently held elections in some of our states, this was used and respectable figures were registered!
I think that’s a great idea. 🙂 My version of NOTA is to vote Libertarian. Apparently Gary Johnson isn’t charismatic, and the party doesn’t get much press, but he’s an honest man, which is saying a lot.
I don’t know enough about the USA economy to make any detailed comment on it, but many of us in the UK are watching the Donald Trump saga with disbelief and apprehension. Will this crazy guy actually make it to the White House?
He probably won’t, but who knows? What do people where you are think of Hillary Clinton?
So a recession was a reason Bill Clinton won? Now we have his wife running under similar conditions? Hmmm.
Yes, it’s interesting. The tables have turned.
I too can only stand on the sidelines, not knowing exactly how your political/country system works – it seems so drawn out, but then again you are a vast country/population in relationship to our tiny pinpoint…
Our country is not only a lot bigger, a lot more money is at stake.
