I probably would have turned it on briefly, but most of our electricity went out around 5 pm and was out until 9:18. A few sockets worked, but not for our computers or TV.
We picked up a picnic supper at Subway and ate by flashlight. Then we rigged up enough lights to read, do the dishes, etc., so it was a quite, peaceful evening.

sounds like a lovely evening to me.
I watched a little of it. nothing that hasn’t been already said by both.
turned it off. had my own lovely quiet evening! 🙂
The debate was about how they handled themselves, I think. Apparently some people in the focus group were upset when Trump said he didn’t pay income taxes, but who knows.
Congratulations. The universe wanted to spare you the agony!
agree with Rummuser but also maybe all the hot el. air was needed wherever the debate was created.
the radio station I’m currently listening to is a “talkback” type of station with various “hosts” throughout the day with different themes. So of course, the host raises including Trump/Clinton/other candidates & the phones run hot.
When I was at Delta – I didn’t need much extra noise or if I did, I over rode the noise with music but here it’s fairly silent – even if I can see 3 houses over the fence (at my front)…over the back they are further away and downhill as such. The hse in front is behind a high fence & a lot of closely packed trees…
When I start doing things – like art/other then I won’t probably notice as I will be engrossed…
Yes, I don’t think I missed anything. 🙂
I’m glad you’re starting to get settled, Cathy. Moving is such a big job.
This is what made me mad.
They talked about his tax returns,
Her emails,
His language on women,
About who first talked about Obama’s birth certificate….
I wanted to scream!
I want to hear about Social Security!
I want to know their plans on Healthcare!
Instead it was like kids fighting over a garden hose
While the house is burning down!
Campaigns aren’t about policy, they’re about getting votes. And the president doesn’t have that much control over health care or Social Security. Congress controls the purse strings. It’s a mess.
