Silver Sneakers

That’s a picture of some of the members of the Silver Sneakers exercise class I go to 10:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The gal in red third from the right is our Monday teacher, the one second from the right is our Wednesday teacher. I’m in the middle row, third from the left.

It’s a friendly group for us old folks. The class is about an hour long. We warm up first, then use resistance bands and dumb bells and do balance and stretching exercises. It’s a well thought out program and the teachers try to make it fun. I’ve been doing it for almost a year now — I don’t always feel like going to it, but afterwards I’m always glad I did.

Do you ever feel that way?

Nice to see you as you are now – and those you share your “Silver Sneakers” (I nearly said Silver Lining) with. Are any of you in contact with each other outside class?

When I did Silver Sneakers I enjoyed it. Then we moved. My current insurance lets me participate for free if I could just get myself to go again.

A lot of insurance companies pay for it because it keeps people healthier. Mine is included in my monthly fee for the Y and it’s easy to get to, which makes a big difference. Getting started is the hard part.

    You are very cute.
    🙂
I feel like that about most social things.
I never want to go but usually I end up having a nice enough time.
(Although I’m ALWAYS happy to get home!)
    Xoxo

Since moving here, I have a great deal of difficulty getting out of the house, so that I’m getting to places @ a dedicated time, of course I get to some that I have to be there by, but I have to motor at home!

I don’t seem to be doing any more – and actually it’s probably less, because my utility rooms are very compact/togetherness…

In some ways it’s my friends’ fault – when she said I was “time rich”

I feel that way after “jogging” with Tempi. We are up to just over 2 miles. I am getting better, but by her standards it does not count as a “run.”
