Why LED Lights Are Better Than Politicians

Yesterday I received an ad from American Science & Surplus with this cheery note.

Top Eleven Reasons LED lights are better than political candidates:

11. They’re always super-bright.

10. You can just put them in the closet when the season’s over.

9. LEDs don’t Tweet.

8. No waiting up to see which LED won.

7. They’re almost never on the news.

6. You can wind them around your bushes.

5. More than one function.

4. Some have solar panels on the end.

3. They don’t burn out.

2. No hats, no pantsuits.

1. They have an off switch.

I especially like #1. No matter who wins today’s election, there is no off switch. The battles will continue.

I think I’ll buy myself some more LED lights.

As the old bulbs die, I have been replacing each with an LED bulb at home since the past one year or so. http://www.pradhanmantriyojana.co.in/ujala-scheme-subsidized-led-bulbs-hindi/

Good for them! Here they encourage compact fluorescents, which has the problem of mercury. We’re starting to use LEDs instead. The price is gradually coming down.

it’s the after-the-contest battles that might prove to be the worst.
i’m with you. wish they had an OFF switch!
i’m going to vote today and then get a new cell phone.
have been advised that the old dinosaur flip top i use is no longer going to have service!!! being forced into the 21st century. 😀

If Clinton gets elected and the Republicans control the House, the investigations will get nasty. What a mess.

    • Jean says:

The Republican race for 2020 has already started, whether or not Trump is elected.

Long before the first polling places opened on Election Day 2016, the race for the 2020 Republican presidential nomination was already underway.

It has been unfolding in early primary states, where potential candidates have been introducing or reintroducing themselves.

We bought 4 new LED lights today. They should last longer than whoever gets elected today.

  4. Cathy in NZ says:

replying after the “fact” of the vote…certainly a lot of chatter on our communication models. because I come and go with radio on/it’s a bit of this or that – so not sure what is what!

    • Jean says:

I prefer to read instead of listening to chatter. I can skim or skip the parts I don’t care about and focus on the things I do care about. I “watched” the election results at the New York times site because the latest results were displayed in easy to see graphics. I could click for more details about any state if one wanted, but I didn’t have to. So I would do other things and come back and look from time to time. Bless the internet!
