I don’t watch TV either. I subscribe to Netflix for TV programs and movies, and we subscribe to a lot of newspapers and magazines to keep up with what is going on in the world. No commercials to jerk our attention around and a lot more depth.
I don’t watch the news either. I subscribe to The Skim which gives me the minimum I need to know to not be totally out of the loop. That’s my only news source except for what I occasionally learn from blogs. Why stress myself out about things I can’t change?
I read a lot about current events, but I’ve practiced my stress management skills so I don’t get upset. I’ve always been interested in history, and we’re in the midst of big changes.
I’m trying to detach myself from it all on a personal level.
the general negative vibrations of our society at the moment seem to be affecting me. but as you say… it’s history in the making for sure.
I had to laugh at the cartoon. I would have said… in answer to my nephew asking the question… “I’ve been eating too much cheese!”
for a heart problem it’s like a major NO NO. even worse than politics. 😀
I don’t have a TV – it shocks a great many people here, there seems to be this ideal that you own a number of regular items – house, car, TV, s/phone…I own only the last item and it’s not the biggest/best on the block either.
I was in yet another bag store today (something is broken) and this man was telling all and sundry that a woman needs many “bags” – these of the purse/extra kind and then he added also “shoes” – I didn’t like to tell him that although I have a few bags, I only have a couple pairs of shoes!
I read the bits of newspaper online, fill it in with bit of radio listening, and of course blogs and f/b links.
I’me not really interested in current affairs but sometimes you are unwittingly drawn into them – but not always the core argument…
We have a TV but only watch the evening weather forecast live. I mostly use it to watch Netflix movies and TV series when I exercise. I don’t own even one purse — I use a small day pack instead. Fashion gets ignored here, too. 🙂
Very hazardous indeed. The latest inane statement by some political leader could easily prompt sky-high blood pressure levels. I follow the media in small doses for fear of physiological mayhem.
Now you know why I don’t watch TV at all!

Great answer! And a good idea for a post — thanks. 🙂

I take it in manageable doses, too. 🙂
I mostly wonder about those I see on social media who are in are in a gradually increasing state of radioactive ideological instability.
It does make an interesting show. 🙂
