Super Bowl LI

Andy and I aren’t football fans, but we do turn on the Super Bowl each year. We ask Kaitlin who we’re supposed to be rooting for, and look at the game from time to time to see how “our team” is doing.

It was different this year. First of all, when I looked at the TV log to see what channel it was on, it wasn’t listed! So I went on the internet, and found this year it wasn’t on a non-cable station, but we could stream it for free with the Fox Sports Go app. So I installed the app on my iPad and and sure enough, it worked.

I have a device called Apple TV so spent about 20 minutes hooking it up so we could see the game on our TV set instead of the iPad. I only used the device once a long time ago, and it felt good to be able to figure it out.

We were rooting for the Patriots and they were performing miserably — the score was 28-3 in the middle of the third quarter — so I didn’t watch closely until the fourth quarter. Then the Patriots made a spectacular comeback and tied the game 28-28 by the end of the four quarters. It’s the first time a Super Bowl game ever went into overtime, and the Patriots made the winning touchdown so the final score was 34-28. Even I can get excited about that!

I also saw one Super Bowl ad that tickles me:

All in all an exciting afternoon. How was yesterday for you?

I thought I had seen all the commercials yesterday. but I missed this one.
I was for the patriots. it turned out to be an exciting game.
and lady ga ga’s half time performance was amazing really… if nothing else just in terms of her stamina!!!
they just keep raising the bar and the “BIG and OVER THE TOP!”
to think that in the beginning super bowls a simple marching band paraded about on the field. 🙂

I’m afraid I’m an old fuddy duddy. I told Andy I liked it when half times were bands marching around on the field. 🙂

But was that last quarter amazing!

And the fact I could stream it to my iPad or TV. Do you have cable? How did you watch it?

so I’m writing this a few days after the super bowl and of course Sunday 5th…

now on the 1st Sunday of the month, one of my fibrecraft groups meets The Zoo Group which is located quite close to the actual Auckland Zoo but we are not in the grounds…but if you turned up as a fly on the wall, you would begin to think at times, if were a family of zoo-mates because the sound of chattering of mini-groups – usually cheek by jowl – noisy as!

    And not always about fibrecrafts!

Alison picks me up but it is on a decent bus route from down in the village; or if I wanted a longer trip I could go on my regular homeward bus – in reverse.
