It’s nice when you can make something work even when you don’t know what the heck you’re doing.
That’s what I told Andy last night, after I (hopefully) changed my email subscriptions from Feedburner to MailChimp. I did it because Kaitlin wrote me yesterday morning to say she hadn’t been informed of my posts for a while. I checked, and sure enough the last post Feedburner knew about was March 20th.
When I did a Google search to find out how to fix the problem I found an article saying drop Feedburner and try another alternative. So a few hours later I exported my subscription list to MailChimp and installed it on Cheerfulmonk. The new subscriber form seems to work, and hopefully MailChimp will notify the present subscribers when I post again.
Fingers crossed! We will know as soon as this gets published.
I was getting mails through feeburner till yesterday and received advice today about this post via mailchimp.
Yes, it’s a big switch for me.
This worked for me ??. Thanks!
Oops. Those question marks were a smiley face and a thumbs up.
Thanks for the feedback!
My apologies. I had not got mail about your posts between the 21st and the 25th inst. I had to go back to catch up on all the posts to comment. Sorry about the earlier comment.
It was completely understandable.
I got it! it said I got it at 5 am.
it came in my ‘promotions’ folder… the one that ads sometimes come in.
not my regular mail.
but the main thing is I got it. go mailchimp! xo
Thanks for letting me know. If all goes well future emails should go out at 1 am our time.
I didn’t find the gmail folders useful so I got rid of theirs — everything comes in at one place. It’s easier on my poor little brain.
similaR 2 tammy here…
Jean, I haven’t been so lucky with Mailchimp. After jumping through hoops (password, giving them a lot of personal information, etc.) I still can’t access your posts, except by going the long route of typing your web name into my browser. I wrote a longer explanation on Rummuser’s blog, so maybe you can refer to that for more info about my dilemma! Hopefully I can clear this up soon (where is my techie when I need her?)
I wrote to you at Rummuser’s and I sent you a sample of the email you should receive every time there is a new post.
