In his book What on Earth Have I Done? Robert Fulghum ponders the philosophical aspects of the questions:
What on earth have you done?
What in the name of God are you doing?
What will you think of next?
Here are my answers:
What on earth have I done? A lot of exploring and pondering.
What in the name of God am I doing? Enjoying my second childhood even more than the first. Life is getting shorter and shorter so I’m making the most of the time I have left.
What will I think of next? Who knows? It will be fun to find out.

What are yours?

What on earth have I done? Lived.
What in the name of God am I doing? Enjoying my retired life and generally having a ball.
What will I think of next? What is “think”?
Isn’t it great being retired?
what on earth have I done? I have finally learned how to make friends.
what in the name of god am I doing? ditto rummy’s exact answer!
what will I think of next? I have no idea. I live from minute to minute. 🙂
Again, isn’t retirement great?!
What on earth have I done? Lots and lots and lots of things.
What in the name of God am I doing? Being a toddler again: eating, playing, sleeping, and you know what else.
What will I think of next? I won’t know until I think it.
😀
1: lots and lots – not always for the best reasons…
2: I’m sure God is just as perplexed as I am at times…
3: Oh that’s always something I don’t know at the very time frame of “next”
4 his other question is “who do I think I am” – I’m not God, that’s sure… I was for one night that lady in the very purple outfit with the outrageous feather in her cap…
I love that lady in the very purple outfit with the outrageous feather in her cap! Good for her, good for her, good for her!
