Beate looked into taking a walk in the Valle Calderas National Preserve, so she, Tim and Andy went last Sunday.
They drove from the Visitor Center for about 45 minutes, then walked for about 3 1/2 hours. It was 8.7 miles with an altitude gain of 1700 feet.
As you can see from the last picture, they were quite a ways from the entrance to the preserve.

wow, that’s a loooooooooooooong walk, but the weather looks pleasant and of course the company all good…
Andy really enjoyed it.
Fabulous scenery. Wish I was there!
It is a nice area.
Wow! What a view. I have just returned from an overnight stay at our nearest hill station Khandala and I found post rain mountain scenery somewhat like these shots. Now I regret not having taken some photographs! Wiser by hindsight.
I would love to have seen them.
