Andy looks at the weather every night, both on TV and the national weather site that discusses what is going on. They recognize they can’t always predict so they also give enough information for people to come to their own conclusions. Needless to say the scientist in Andy likes that a lot better.

I’ve always liked the born loser. 😀
it was supposed to be cloudy and ‘possible’ rain today.
the sun is shining brightly as I write this.
that word ‘possible’ is in every forecast!
we are enjoying cooler nights though which is breaking every august record!
and no… I didn’t even feel the earthquake here and I heard it was a fairly good sized one too. maybe I was just sleeping like a rock!
Yes, best to sleep through earthquakes. Apparently you have them all the time.
My Dave watches NOAA weather forecasts for trends. After living most of his life in Minnesota he knows what approaching storms tend to look like. In the winter, for instance, most of our blizzards come from Denver so watching reports from there helps predict what is coming here.
Yes, having that broader view helps a lot.
Auckland has many problems with forecasting weather, most of you know how we are in the very skinny bit of the landmass and we have harbours that link both to the Pacific and the Indian oceans – which love to bring all kinds of weather….And then are a chill winds that come up from our next land mass, Antarctic
Yes, it must be a nightmare for the forecasters.
I choose the daily newspapers for forecasts for the next 24 hours. By and large, they are accurate. The Pune office of the Indian Meteorological Department is among the oldest in the world!
That’s interesting that it’s so old!
Blind Faith was an English blues rock band, composed of Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Steve Winwood, and Ric Grech. They only made one album (in august of 1969). Go listen to it, MUCH better than a weather forecast 😉
Thanks for the information, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to convince Andy. He does love the weather forecasts, especially grumbling when they’re wrong. 😀
