Bears can be fun to watch, but they can be dangerous when they become too comfortable around people.
We’ve been having a lot of trouble with bears here in town. The high school was locked down for about an hour a few days ago because a bear was roaming around the campus. And our local newspaper has been publishing a lot of pictures of adult and baby bears wandering around, climbing trees and into Dempster dumpsters, etc.
Fingers crossed no one gets hurt.

The only dangerous beings that invade our space here is human.
We have those too. 😀
like rummuser, we don’t have such critters roaming around here…although I will say there are some “dogs” that are best left to their own devices. They have mauled people from time to time, often their own owners!
but then there are sea creatures you don’t stay around to view, at close quarters…
but it was interesting to see how they just step across certain boundaries…knowing that on the whole, they will not be killed/maimed…
Yes, people around here mostly like the bears. I’m concerned there will be an accident.
Usually, bears don’t attack humans. The exception is when a mother bear has cubs nearby. Then, watch out!
I think “babies” of any animal are their main concern…stay at out of sight, and as you’ve said “no problems”…or course there are always stupid people who go out of their way to get up close/personal…
the time on my reply says it’s late last night 11.09pm – but actually it’s mid arvo now the next day 🙂 and I’m working on a project that needs drying time between doing the next bit… so set it to dry, leap back on the couch/fridge/other…
That’s true of black bears but not grizzlies.
Cathy,
The time stamp is for our time, not yours. There is quite a difference!
it seems this year you’re having even more bear sightings than ever before.
I wonder what that is telling us… nature wise.
sometimes it means a colder winter or other things that animals seem to instinctively know and we don’t!
those cubs are so adorable.
the constantly whining child was not so adorable!
I don’t know. More bears, not enough food in the wild?
