This can indeed happen in real life.

that would be funny if it weren’t scary-funny.
the marine and I had breakfast together the other morning at IHOP and as we waited for our order I began looking all around me.
I knew of it but I guess I had just never noticed it before.
literally almost every single table had people sitting at it that were staring and texting and playing on their phones. no one was talking. right next to our table was a family of three. a dad a mother and a young son. all three had their phones out. they even kept them there while they ATE!
communicating is going on. but not with each other.

That’s pretty much how it goes now.

yep, it’s rife down here as well…and often it’s “ear/head phones” on to a point where if they notice you speaking they have “open an ear up…” I do still have chats with people…including young people, but it’s more someone older.

  5. How true! Only one thing missing…the iphones. Oh, well, it’s universal, although that’s small comfort!

I think they are iPhones. It’s just that they send texts and surf the net.

you can do everything and bit more than what you computer console will do – it’s just a lot more fiddly to use (narrow screen mainly) – you can have data added for roaming if you want – so that you check out all kinds of things whilst you’ve out.

the only time I can check thing is when I get in a free wi-fi zone – often I don’t know that is happened until I maybe look at the time, and see messages etc… some I can read depends on whether I’m still in wi-fi zone…

and then there are apps – I have a few, but mainly I don’t use them, no roaming data. I just use a pre-pay subscription – for texts, occasional phone call…
