I always dread that and sometimes some other seasonal periods – but I always know it’s not going to be forever.

Today less wind, and so a lot warmer, some sun as well… got a minor load of washing dry (leftover from the other week or maybe the week before that…let’s just say caught up now); also spray painted Ice Train and the base of the Jewel Thief. Actually got a lot of things “ready for next stage”

It’s not my favorite season. Fortunately, most of the time here in Arkansas, it’s not too bad and, when it does get bad, it’s not for very long. Ice storms, though, can be brutal, which is part of the reason we’re having trees close to the house removed.

We have just started our second best season for me, the winter. I have to wear warm clothes in the mornings when I sit in the veranda and cover myself with a shawl while meditating before that. It will progressively get colder during the day time till about mid March when it will start warming up again.

In any case, I am privileged enough to be able to afford living a life of comfort without worrying about the elements.

  4. I’ve decided to be proactive about winter this year. So I’ve been bundling up, grabbing an umbrella and heading out, rain or shine. It’s been mostly rain and cold (LOL) but it feels okay once you are out there! I know that it looks worse than it is!

Years ago I used to do that. Now not so much. But I like winter, for me it’s a time of reflection. And down here we get plenty of days of sun, which makes a big difference.

Winter is very pretty on the other side of our windows.

you already know how I feel about autumn and winter.
it truly is a reflective time of year like you said.

I thought this cartoon was especially brilliant because the ending with them sitting on their sled and toboggan took me completely by surprise.
