Kaitlin sent this picture yesterday, the second day of their drive here. They should get to the motel sometime tonight, and we will see them tomorrow morning. The weather looks promising so they will spend two nights up on the land, then they’ll stay in a motel down here the last night so they can get an early start Tuesday.
That’s a lot of driving, but they want the pups to enjoy the land too.

Kaitlin sent these this morning:
They are getting closer!
snoozing dogs will mean they will be fresh and ready to adore their grand parents…so may you should both have a snooze as well…
road by sign seem to clear of traffic and the road looks good as welll
LOL!
true.
Yes, no snowy roads to contend with. Tempi doesn’t do adoration, except on the receiving end. 😀 They don’t call her Princess for nothing.
they are sure good little travelers.
I hope the altitude doesn’t bother Sammy too much.
of course not sure how you’d know.
it gives me a head ache.
maybe it just makes dogs sleepy or lethargic. 🙂
I’m pretty sure Kaitlin and Torben could tell if something bothers him. He’s been coming up at least once a year since before the fire, and it didn’t seem to bother him before.
Glad to know the weather in your area is okay. I was reading that some parts of USA are down to -20 with massive snowfalls.
They did have bad weather at first, from Ann Arbor to Indianapolis, then it was just cold and windy until they got to New Mexico.
They got some strange looks when they recharged here because they were so bundled up and it was so warm out.
How far do they have to drive and how long does it take?
According to the web it’s 1584 miles (25 h 36 min if things are going well they say, so in spite of some problems K and T did well) because they left from Torben’s folks’ place instead of from home.
According to Tempi’s whistle, she is currently 1073 miles from home. Our drivIng time (from Torben’s parents, so longer than our house, and we had to slow for snow storms) was 25.4 hours. So, somewhere around 22-24 hours to our house pending weather conditions and route (different states have different speed limits). We always stay at least one night in a hotel.
Good Lord!
Yeh! almost there!
