I never have flies in the house.
If I do, they don’t last long because Nora, my Border Collie, flies through the air and eats them.
We don’t call them flies, we call them Sky Raisins.
😉
they don’t last long here either, either the swat or the spray…I often have little wasps in as well, they go the same way. I’m not fond of flying insects all that much. I know I should let them out, but most of them fly to the next window open. And windows open are the catch of the day here right now, any little breeze is welcome indoors – after 5pm and the stickiness and humid is rife along with the cicadas whistling…
from friend to enemy in one little explanation! LOL
and I love “fly raisins!”
I let them out if I can. and I usually can. never have that many here…
which is nice.
what I had last summer were yellow jackets. not fun!
Since our doors to the garden are usually left open throughout the day, flies and bees come in much to the chagrin of Chutki who has a great time looking for snapping at them. By evening they simply disappear.

Sky raisins. I love it! And I’m glad you have a fly catcher. 😀

Andy uses sticky fly traps up on the land. The house gets a lot of them.
I’m sorry about your humidity. I assume that’s not unusual because you’re so close to the water. We’re usually very dry here, especially this winter.

I remember yellow jackets from my youth. Nasty things!

I’m afraid I would get screen doors.
