Life Is so like a Bluebird

This cartoon reminds me of one of my favorite pieces of doggerel:

Oh, life is so like a bluebird,
The poet Omar hath said.
Sometimes it sings at your window,
And sometimes it dumps on your head.

I hope it is singing at your window.

    Here, in Victoria (where the birds are so plentiful), i is considered good luck if a seagull dumps on your head!

    You reminded me of:

    Birdie, birdie in the sky
    Dropped some whitewash in my eye.
    I didn’t holler; I didn’t cry.
    But, gee I’m glad that cows don’t fly.
