It got my attention. I asked Dave to come watch it as I ran it again. Thanks for sharing this information.
I’m glad you liked it. 🙂
I love the weather channel! talk about a reality show!
the Moore tornado that year (about 9 miles down the road from us) was an EF5. I remember Gary England saying that “folks if you’re not under ground when this hits you’ll be dead.” he seldom talked so dramatically. he always tried to be low key. he would always say to children… “if you’re home and you’re alone just be calm. and here’s what you should do.” then he would tell them in a very calm and caring manner. but that day 2 years or so ago was totally different.
that EF5 that year is the one that killed so many little school children when it hit the schools. our state has FINALLY realized that they need shelters in each school! good grief! how long does it take to look at a horse shoe people?
these clips are wonderful! I hadn’t ever seen them. the storm surge to me is the worst! maybe I’m just used to tornadoes. but the thought of such high water scares me the most. that and FIRE!
thanks Monk.
I’m afraid of tornadoes even though I’ve never been close to one, and flooding is so bad not just because of the water but because of the sewage. Yuck! So far I’ve never felt in danger from fire even though we’ve had to evacuate twice. And I trust Andy to keep aware and stay out of danger.
India is still coping with the aftermath of the Kerala floods and I can well imagine what must be happening over there. These videos are good but, unlikely to reach the people most affected who must be sans power and perhaps even homes!
They play the videos when the storm is approaching to convince people that it will be serious.
When it storms, I’m never scared.
But if the News came on and showed THAT,
I’d be terrified!
(But it was pretty cool to watch!)
Thanks!
That tornado one even scared me, and I’ve never been close to a tornado!
