Here’s a picture of the electrician who gave us partial power last Wednesday.
When I was parking today after Silver Sneakers he was knocking on our apartment door. He wanted to warn me that he was going to change the breaker and our electricity would be off for a few minutes. How neat was that!
The highs the past couple of days have been a few degrees above freezing, and some of the snow has melted, but there’s enough left to interfere with parking.
It’s supposed to be in the low 40’s F (~6°C) for the next four days so it will be interesting to see if that makes a dent in the snow piles.

great news on the “power” – but I note that one of the cars is well covered, as if that person hasn’t/isn’t going anywhere for some time…(oops covered in a snow-coat) – but it’s nice to see sun glistering on another car…
We’re curious to see when the owner comes back. If it’s soon he won’t be thrilled that the snow plow pushed that mound of snow right against his car.
So glad you have the power back . It looks very cold there. We haven’t had the snow we usually get this year. Yesterday it rained and it was freezing on the car but then later when I looked it had all melted off.
At the moment it’s in the low 40’s during the day, so it’s not that bad. Last week was another matter.
Weather is so crazy.
I’m glad it’s warming up for you!
Yesterday it was low 50’s here
And today it’s supposed to start dropping to the 20’s.
Then we are going to get high winds and after that snow.
But next week it’s predicted to hit the 40’s again.
Obviously I’ll just dress in layers and deal with whatever happens.
Yes, layers are a godsend! And cars are too. Catherine in NZ takes the bus and that makes it more complicated.
I’m glad that your big challenge is over. Getting through the rest of the winter will be a piece of cake for you! Bravo—you guys are terrific!
Thank you! It was an inconvenience but had nothing to do with health, which is the thing we care about. The main thing is they got us heat that first night. That plus the flashlights meant we didn’t have to move to a motel.
what a sweetheart to let you know.
is that a red cape he’s wearing? and a big E on his chest? I think it is!
they are often the unsung heroes of our world. just doing their job.
He was greatly appreciated!
Glad life inside is back to normal. The sun should help with the outside, although we three would love to have that snow here and not melting.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
We would love to give you the big piles. You would have fun and we would have more parking places, both here and downtown. 😀
