Having Fun

This quote by General Chuck Yeager goes along with yesterday’s post:

Unfortunately, many people do not consider fun to be an important part of their daily agenda. For me, that was always a high priority in whatever I was doing.

That works for me too. Back to the secret of happiness:

The secret of happiness is to ask yourself every day:

(1) What’s good about my life?
(2) What needs to be done?
(3) How can I get this done and enjoy the process?

Is having fun, enjoying yourself, an important priority for you?

Having fun and enjoying myself is an important priority but I think even more important is living a peaceful life.

That’s a good point. Keeping centered is such an important part of my life that I hardly think about it now. One of my mantras is, “Centered, creative, and constructive.” But I haven’t needed to use it for quite a while.

Getting fun out of things is very important. On the odd occasion when a new job has turned out not to be fun, I simply left and looked for another job. And all my private activities are fun, or I wouldn’t bother with them.

  3. I like your secret of happiness list. I have a low threshold for boredom so I’m always looking for things to do….however, most people probably wouldn’t define my idea fun the same as theirs.

  4. Linda Sand says:

My friend decided to see housework as exercise. She then enjoyed carrying a heavy basket of wet clothes to the clothesline then bending over to pick up each piece and stretching up to hang them. Apparently, the fun was in deciding how to see chores as exercise so she no longer had to go the gym to use the boring machines there.

  5. I like Linda’s friend approach, I do that as well when I’m home. Plus I don’t rush, take time to just be. If I’m outside I’ll stop and look intently at something…

I don’t think about the happiness threesome you have provided…in quite that way.

I’m not home right now – life is a bit different…at some point today I have to repack my bag, off tomorrow on ferry back to the North ( approx 3 hours away)… I’m hoping rain will stop today want to walk around here a bit more

Not allowing oneself to feel rushed is a big part of it. Good luck on the rain stopping for a bit, and have a good, safe trip home. 🙂

Mom says that life can get very busy and hectic so it is always good to have some way to find fun. She likes to do lots of puzzles, jigsaw and word – AND play with us. We try to bring fun to her life all the time:)

Well, yes, isn’t that why people have pups? To enjoy and have fun with? I agree about having games and puzzles to play with.
