We took another walk over, under, and around fallen trees today, and later Torben, Kaitlin, and Andy got out the saw and cleared two of the many trees off the road.
They left here about 7:45 this evening and will get up in the wee hours of the morning to catch their 5:55 a.m. flight from Albuquerque (about two hours away) to Chicago.
Needless to say we were happy to see them and are grateful that they came.

you sure have been having a “happy time” with family…
Yes. š
Those two sure are hard workers aren’t they. I imagine you are a bit sad to see them leave.
It was good to see them, but we keep in touch — a lot of emails and long phone calls on Sunday evenings. We’re grateful for modern communication.
chain saws scare me! yet look at Kaitlin right there handling it like a pro.
and Torben and Andy are in such great shape too. and so strong!
and their scribe! thank you for sharing it all with us!
once our neighbor’s wife came running to our door ā¦ thank heaven Bob was home because he ran back with her while I called an ambulance. her husband had nearly cut off his leg. he tripped with the saw and you know the rest. Bob knew to put on a tourniquet and was strong enough to get the log off of him where it had fallen. the old guy lived through it and didn’t lose his leg. but I’ve been petrified of chain saws ever since.
Monday Andy said a younger and more experienced person would saw a lot faster than he does, but he’s super careful, and he’s teaching them how to be that way too. My solution is to stay away from chain saws. š
Visitors who come to help cut down trees are few and far between. Gotta treasure friends like that.
Yes, that’s my daughter and son-in-law. We’re lucky to have them.
These photos are great.
Iām so happy to see your family working and enjoying time together.
