Measuring Distance for Defensible Space

Andy and Torben were measuring 100 feet — the distance most vegetation needs to be removed for fire protection — from the northeast corner of our house.

Andy held one end of the measuring tape.

And Torben went down the hill with the other end.

Here’s Torben coming back up.

Removing the bushes will be a nuisance!

That sounds like a lot of hard work. The pups look like they are doing all the supervising:)

  2. I expect that’s a good idea, but the work to make that happens seems pretty back breaking…but on the other hand you are able to do that, it’s your land….

Our contractor is planning to come up next week (starting Tuesday, we think) to start on the foundation for the greenhouse, and we will pay him for clearing some of the defensible space. We don’t know if some of this steep area will be included.

I couldn’t even see where he was at the beginning of the video. That’s going to be a lot of work to remove all that

    I’m finally able to comment!
    Yeh!
I couldn’t get my iPhone to do hardly anything!
I just learned how to do a re-boot to it.
I loved being able to see the video.
I’m glad you are going to have someone clear most of it for you.
    Good luck!

I’m not sure if they will do this part. We’ll probably find out next week. Fingers crossed for Andy’s sake.

I’m glad your iPhone is working now. That can be such a nuisance!
