They worked on the wall yesterday until they ran out of bricks (more are scheduled for today):
So they put the rest of the insulation around the inside of the foundation:
And they started compacting the soil in preparation for the layer of gravel and good soil they will eventually bring in:

I love watching men build things. it’s fascinating.
I’m glad the weather’s cooperating.
I’m thinking it might make a good tornado shelter too! 😀
I’m afraid the area inside the lower walls will be filled up with gravel and soil, so no room for us to hide from tornadoes.
Keep your fingers crossed we won’t get a lightning strike before next summer. The fellow who will add the lightning protection is busy until almost then, and the tall dead trees we were using to protect the shed have been cut down. Life gets complicated sometimes. 😀
Every little bit of work counts. Nice to see steady work happening.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Yes, they plan to go up every day this week, including Saturday if they need to. We’ll see.
I had not even thought about the lighning….do you get much there. We used to get all kinds of lighning, but the past two or three years have not got much at all.
Not very often, but enough for it to be a concern. One of the dead trees they cut down for the greenhouse got hit a couple of years ago.
Now that looks like some hard work. I bet you sleep well afterwards.
Coffee is on
‘Ill bet the guys do. We’re grateful they’re willing to go up there to work.
Oh! Growth!
It’s fun to watch. 😀
Fabulous…sorry behind with blogs…
I’m glad you’re having a good time. 🙂
Interesting. I never even thought about having to prepare the ground to have the fill put in.
I’m learning a lot too.
