The bolts for the Andy’s beam anchors were perfectly aligned. He didn’t take a close-up of them, but you can see them on the top of the wall (covered by the vapor barrier) as they raise the beam.
Here’s a picture of the beam (covered in the vapor barrier) in place, on top of the concrete layer and the concrete blocks.
It was busy up there yesterday — they brought up the greenhouse pieces in addition to the beam, they started building the stairs, and the electrician and plumber worked on the utilities. There are a lot more pictures on Flickr.
Andy couldn’t go up today because he had another eye appointment in Santa Fe, so we’re curious to see how much they got done. We’re planning to go up tomorrow evening for a picnic supper, which should be fun.

oh fabulous
Yes. 🙂
They are moving right along with this. It’s fun to watch the progress
Things will slow down soon, but it’s great they are so far along. Hopefully tomorrow the project will be ready for the installer to do his thing, but we don’t know when he will come.
I would have never dreamed so much work goes into building a modern-day greenhouse!
It’s not a standard greenhouse because of the massive concrete wall. It will be painted a dark color to absorb heat and keep the greenhouse warmer longer. We’ll have to see if it helps very much.
Kind of beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel….
It’s good to have gotten this far. Hopefully tomorrow night we can tell the installer he can come any time. Then we have played our part well and it’s out of our hands.
