Kaitlin, Torben, and the pups are on their way home after another great visit.
One of the many things we did while they were here was to harvest some radishes.
We still have some left, and I planted another row of them and a new row of beets for future harvests.

Even though I kind of expected them to grow, I still find it fascinating that they have done so well.
I do too! It’s a minor miracle it’s worked as well as it has so far. We expected the greenhouse to extend the growing season a month or so on the spring and fall, but not this much. It depends on how many sunless days we get in a row, and so far we’ve been lucky.
a wonderful trip all around! and two very tired puppies from the look of it! xo
Yes! The sure sign of a good visit, plenty of running around. 😀
I’ll bet those dogs slept all the way home after running around in the mountain air.
It looks like you’ll be able to grow year around in the greenhouse.
Unfortunately it’s about 1300 miles to their home. 🙁 We’re grateful that they’re willing to come with the pups.
Whether or not the plants get frozen depends how many sunless days we have. We’ve been lucky so far, but if they freeze we will have plenty more seeds to try.
Nothing like being able to pick your own home grown vegies. Even better when you’re doing it in the winter.
Looks like the dogs are tired out.
It’s a fun experiment, and it’s always good to see tired, sleeping dogs. 🙂
Looks like a great time all round and the radishes sure look a good mouthful, not tiny weeny as I think the first harvest was. Now you are starting to see what is doable, I can see whole forest sprouting up in there…just make sure it’s not the kind of forest that authorities might frown upon 🙂
No problem, we’ve never been interested in illegal substances. 😀
We could always have a cold, overcast spell that would hurt the plants, but we will have plenty more seeds.
Ravishing radishes. Looks like he relishes some.
They were good. I also ate the leaves, which are nutritious but not as tasty.
Such a nice visit, dogs and radishes!
