Andy harvested the last of our first batch of radishes Saturday:
The largest one was about 2 3/4 inches in diameter. As you can see from the slice, it wasn’t as crisp as usual, but it was still mild and good to eat. The taste of the smaller ones had more bite — not too strong, but I like the bigger ones better.
Andy has already planted another batch.

WOW!
nice haul! xoxo
Yes. 🙂
agree with tammy

That green house is paying for itself in entertainment value alone, let alone the food that comes from it. It keeps you guys occupied and the rest of us are always interested in seeing what is happening.
I’m with you — it’s worth it for the entertainment value alone. 😀
That one is pretty big.
Yes, we’re surprised it tasted so good.
Yum!
Yes!
I love radishes, wish I had seen this before I went shopping this morning, could have bought a bunch. not as good as fresh grown but I do love the bite.
Maybe next time. How often do you shop? How crowded is the store?
I hate radishes but its been fun watching you guys growing them.
I enjoy watching them grow even more than eating them. 🙂
Congrats on the radishes. Surprised that one wasn’t pithy. I miss having several planters in which I staggered planting times of various leaf lettuces. Likewise I miss my various dwarf fruit trees I had in whiskey barrels on my patio, especially the Mandarin Orange, that died the summer my husband died cause I had to leave them unwatered too long to go back east for a celebration of his life with old friends. I hadn’t gotten my drip system set up yet and all the tubing etc. I had just purchased still languishes unused.
That’s so sad about your trees, in addition to your husband. 🙁
Mom could use a few of those radishes for her salad tonight:)

I wish you lived closer!
