Again the columns, in order from the left, are melon, cucumber, watermelon, squash, tomato, zucchini, cabbage, cabbage, tomato, tomato.

Two of the watermelon seeds have sprouted, and the zucchini is very happy, but the tomatoes aren’t doing very well at all. We’ll have to see.

  1. how awesome and thanks for revealing a time line type of growth…

  2. Ann Thompson says:

That zucchini is really growing. Hope the tomatoes catch up

    • Jean says:

We’ll have to see about the tomatoes. Andy carefully nurtured some seedlings in the house a few years ago and the ingrates died.

  3. MadSnapper says:

they are growing well, maybe tomato takes a little longer. great job on your garden to be

    • Jean says:

Apparently they like the soil temperature to be about 80°F. The heater under the tray should help some, but maybe not enough? We’ll have to see.

  4. If you factor in the costs of building that greenhouse, your summer crop is going to produce some very expensive veggies, offset by the entertainment value though. LOL

    • Jean says:

Needless to say we didn’t build the greenhouse to save money. 😀

It’s well worth it for the sense of adventure and watching things grow. Harvesting is fun too, of course.

  5. tammy j says:

I don’t know for sure but I think tomatoes require more of the summer heat.
they’ll come along. but it might be later maybe? I should talk! I know next to nothing about gardening!

    • Jean says:

We’ll have to see. There’s a heater under the seed-starting tray, and the daytime temperature of the air is in the 80s, so who knows?

  6. Rose says:

It will be interesting to see if the tomatoes come up…

  7. The OP Pack says:

A little tender love will get those tomatoes going:) Looking great.

    Woos, Lightning and Timber

  8. Bruce Taylor says:

Yes, I think the tomatoes will come around eventually.
