Do you remember these pictures of little evergreens that almost got destroyed by fallen trees in 2016?
Some of them were later destroyed by animals, but this one is still thriving.
Notice not only how much it has grown, but also how all of the fallen trees have been cleared. That’s what Andy, with some help from Beate and Tim, has been doing lately. We had our contractor clear a 100-foot defensible space around much of the greenhouse and house last fall, but we didn’t have them do it to the west of the shed because their heavy equipment would have destroyed the new evergreens.
That’s an impressive amount of work!

I remember them well. You must have a lot of critters around there! This one lone survivor will sure be special.
Actually others are still growing. I’ll have Andy take pictures of them. The main reason for this shot was to show how much work he has done. Beate and Tim have also helped a lot the past few days.
That tree is a gorgeous…has such a beautiful shape.
Yes. Fingers crossed it keeps thriving.
Awwww… that brave soul deserves a star on his head at Christmas time… and every year thereafter. Grow, little one, grow!!! Love, Andrea xoxo
Don’t get your hopes up about the tree. See the next post and keep your fingers crossed.
They did a good job of clearing that space. That’s a lot of hard work
Yes, and they did a lot more today.
That is truly an incredible amount of work to do to save those trees! worth the saving. What a beautiful Christmas tree. Although I loved it when it was Tiny it was so cute! I happen to know what a defensible area is because my friend Inger from another blog lives in a desert in California and each year she has to pay someone to clear the area around her house because of Fire
Yes, let’s hope they survive!
Wow! What a lot of work.
Andy never ceases to amaze me!
Awesome!
And that photo… I’m kinda in love with that tree now!
