Belated Birthday Card

We received a greeting card in the mail last night. I thought it might be an extra-early Christmas card, but no…it was a birthday card. It was mailed on time last February but just got here.

Has any of your mail ever been that late? I’m surprised it reached us at all.

No, don’t think I have ever gotten anything that late. I am surprised you got it, too.

Can’t think of a time anything arrived THAT late, but it must have been a nice surprise to have some extra birthday wishes:)

    Have a good weekend.

  3. Wow, that’s a long time for a card to catch up. Must have gotten lost some place.

Can’t think of anything that was that late. We have had some packages that seemed to get hung up for some reason for days or weeks. For some reason, most of the ones that are delayed go through Grapevine, Texas. Now, when we check tracking, if we see Grapevine, Texas, we jokingly expect it to be lost for a while before it finally gets here!

Yikes!!! I don’t think I have ever had that happen. Although someone stole a package that was delivered to us a couple weeks ago. That is more common, though.

We’ve been lucky around here about packages…that would be a real nuisance. Presumably we would have to have the packages sent to the local UPEX store and then go down and pick them up. 🙁

yes, i once got a card from Sweden and it was months late, also one from there never got here. about reading and your sight. have you ever looked at the print on an e-reader? If not for the e-reader I could not read either. i have my fonts BOLD and Big..this is what mine looks like and can be a lot larger if needed. https://snapperone.blogspot.com/2014/09/once-upon-library-book-and-murphy.html

Yes, I do get books on kindle, and I listen to audible books. When I read print, even if it’s large, I have to hold the book too close… my eyes don’t work together and I have to cover one eye. With the computer screen far enough away and with prisms I can use both eyes.

That is amazing it arrived! It WOULD be even more ironic if it was mailed from across town.

  8. Ann Thompson says:

Wow, I had my home owners insurance payment take over a week to get to them but I’ve never had anything take that long.

I’ve been very lucky with the mail.
it’s incredible to me that it works as well as it does! 😀

  10. Myra Guca says:

Oh my goodness! I’ve had occasions where my mail was mis-delivered, but nothing like what you describe. I wonder if my folks didn’t have it right by renting a P.O. Box.

  11. !!!!!!!!!! Where ever has it been???????

  12. I had one time, a package that took a very unexpected trip – it had been posted in NZ to my address in NZ – but diverted to Australia – finally arrived.

And I’ve had cheques (checks) that have gone AWOL for weeks when I was in business of purchasing items for volunteer job – I remember writing them another cheque which they got quickly – then #1 appeared maybe a month later, they tore it up!

Another time the package I was sending to some place with the correct address – came back! What had happened and it was clearly showing on the package was the “franking machine” had put the stamp thing on the back so of course it came right back to the sender. I wasn’t going to pay another fee, so I took it to the PO and they mailed it free of charge with many apologies – particularly as the delivery person obviously as thick as well, it clearly had said on front TO and on the back FROM

  13. That’s really late. I guess we better get our Christmas cards out early!
