In 2015 we experimented a lot with the lights on the Christmas tree up on the land. (Beate and Tim gave Andy the tree, he did the structure and lights).
One of my favorite pictures of the land is this not-very-good one taken November 25, 2015:
It was the night before a full moon, and we went up to see the lights. We could see the separate colors, but the camera couldn’t distinguish them without being zoomed in. The reddish light on top of the mountain is the one on top of a TV tower, ours is the bright white one below it and to the left. It’s not a good picture, but it’s a great reminder of a magical evening.

That’s pretty cool that you can see the light from the tree that far away
We experimented with different lights and configurations so the colors could be distinguished,
Photos sure take us for a ride sometimes….right back in time. I get to looking at photos sometimes and the time just slips away.
Amen to that!
It is quite a lovely picture. The dusting of snow on the mountains, and the distant lights.
Yes, it was a great night.
This photo gives me lots of comfort…the stillness of the night, the twinkling of the lights. And off in the distance, a lone coyote howls ever so faintly.
It’s incredibly peaceful, that’s why I love it.
this is exactly why I love photographs, they capture memories that we can see for the rest of our lives… I used to know a quote about this, but is escapees me now.
It takes time to save photos, but it’s more than worth it. I’m glad you have a lot too.
Delightful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🙂
there’s always something comforting somehow about a light
shining in the wilderness.
Yes. 🙂
That’s so cool! Thank you for sharing your memory with us.
I’m glad you liked it. 🙂
Wow, that tree lite up showed from a lot of miles away, didn’t it.
Yes, that’s why it’s so much fun.
