The second one makes me wonder if that is the reason people these days seem to want to erase history. Or at least parts of it that offend them.
That could be. π
My mother always said to me “what goes around comes around”. More or less, the golden rule.

I’ve been interested in personal growth since I was a kid. It’s a great hobby because there’s a lot to learn and plenty of chances to practice.

the first one reminds me also of the fact we can change no one, only ourselves.
I figure if you have to go through the pain you might as well get something out of it.
All good, yes. But the third REALLY resonates. We’re all responsible for our own attitudes.

I learned a lot about that last one when someone said what we need to do is change the stories we tell ourselves. We aren’t sad when someone dies until we learn about that death and tell ourselves to be sad. If instead, we tell ourselves the story about rejoicing that they had such a wonderful life our feelings will change, too.
I agree. So many mourn from selfishness while the deceased lived a full happy life. And in most cases no longer suffers from a painful, lengthy illness. Well said.
A lot of people have celebration of life ceremonies instead of funerals. I think that’s a healthy attitude.
