Watching the Weather

There’s a High Wind Watch for this evening and tomorrow morning:

HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY EVENING THOUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING….

Southwest to west winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph possible. However, gusts up to 70 mph will be possible about 8000 feet.

IMPACTS…Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines…

Andy’s taking it seriously and when he left this morning he said he might come home early if the strong winds come earlier than predicted. He will be cautious tomorrow and either stay home or turn around if the winds are too bad.

It might not happen, of course, but it pays to be careful.

We have the exact same weather warning. Guess the dogs won’t be getting a walk tomorrow:) It’s trash day here tomorrow and we are going to wait to put ours out until we hear the truck. Take care and stay safe. Hope Andy gets home safely.

we have the same winds. and fire danger warnings of course.
today was 74 degrees here. it doesn’t even feel like December!
I’m So Glad that Andy is sensible! if he should have to stay home…
missing one day up there is better than endangering his life!

Our fire danger warnings are for the eastern plains so I’m not surprised that applies to you too. Good luck!

When I went to the store tonight it was raining lightly. A delightful surprise.

How curious. We have the same forecast for the exact same times. Either it’s a big storm or it’s moving through very fast. I’ll hope for the latter. Our forecast also includes some snow for my area around midnight.

It pays to be cautious…the other night I was out at 11:00 putting our vehicle in the garage. The the alerts came on my phone to seek shelter immediately. I did not risk waking Roger up to get him to the basement. Afraid he would take a tumble down the steps…but I did spend a few tense minutes…

  5. Ann Thompson says:

We had the same warning here last week. No damage at my house and I think other than some trees down and a few power outages we came through ok. Good for Andy being cautious.

  6. MadSnapper says:

we are both weather watchers here, and if I lived where you do with your beautiful mountain top, would be extra careful.. hope nothing came to do harm during the night. waiting to here you are safe and sound

  7. Hootin' Anni says:

Our winds are predicted to pick up by midday. Our weatherman calls it “dude, where’s my trash bin”? Kinda wind.

  8. Linda Sand says:

We have that forecast tonight. Along with tornado warnings in SE Minnesota. We used to say if we wanted to know what our winter weather would be we just had to check out Denver’s weather because it would be here next. I no longer have family in Denver so don’t bother to check that anymore.

  9. Myra Guca says:

I’ve been watching the footage (tree casualties) on the Daily Post’s Facebook page. So glad y’all are remaining cautious!

  10. no storms here, although this is the season of “cyclones in the Pacific” that bring the tail-end rain and storms down to this land. I apparently slept through a bad windy night according to B – who said “I’m surprised you didn’t hear it, you usually do” – I did note that a huge weed type tree was bent over my grape vine from next door, I sawed the branches that I could reach and threw the bits over the fence, the people at that house never come down beyond their garage!!! But if they did they would have a shock! A noxious weed that is now a blasted tree…

  11. Better safe than sorry. Hoping all is well.
