Have you ever had a TV so big that kids could play in the box it came in? My folks did, but Andy and I have always had table top versions. We now have two 22-inch models, one in my study and one in my living roomβ¦I use them for streaming videos when I exercise. What about you?

I haven’t read this post yet, but am watching news with N Mex fires?!! You two okay?
Yes, thanks for asking. π
I remember those big TV’s but not the boxes they came in but I’m guessing they were big enough for kids to have fun with.
I don’t remember the boxes either.
cute cartoon!
I don’t remember playing in a box. surely I did. it sounds like fun.
or… maybe they were broken down and flattened for the next move?
I really don’t remember. π
I was about 13 when my folks got their first TV, too old to play in boxes. π
We have a 32 inch flat screen; it is old, though! Maybe 15 or 20 years?
Ours are younger than that because we didn’t switch to digital TVs until we were forced to.
I remember playing in big boxes when I was a kid but I don’t recall what came in them. I have a 42″ flat screen in my Ann cave and another one in the living room.
Those are nice sizes. π
we did not get a TV until I was 15, in 1959. it was a Table top as were the other 2 my parents got, so the boxes were used for dog beds on the carport for cold weather. the right size for Joey to sleep in… when I was young enough to play in boxes, we never got anything in a box.
we have a 65 inch in the living room and a 32 inch in the bedroom. the one in the bedroom never gets turned on except if the TV doesnt’ come on in the morning in the living room, i use the other one to see if it is cable or tv.
also it is a back up in case bob had to go a day without one, LOL
It makes sense to have a backup. We plan ahead like that too. π
Glad to know you are not directly affected by the wildfires.
We have two TVs. Both flat screen. So there is no playing in THOSE shipping boxes. (Our kitty would loves large box)
Probably the biggest things weβve ordered in boxes in the past were our microwave convection ovens. Weβve now had to give them up for smaller microwaves because we can no longer deal with heavy items. Too funny. π
No, not had tv so big lifs co ui ld play in the box, but they sure play in boxes washer and dryer came in. We gave two TVs, neither are huge, but both are medium sized I guess. I think one is 37 and one I’s 43? Not sure about the 43…but one is not even hooked to cable tv…I just watch stuff on YouTube
We no longer get TV but I stream a lot of programs using my Roku. It keeps me entertained when I excercise.
Surely there were giant boxes carried inside my parent’s home — I’m remembering the combo television, stereo, turntable, etc. — but nothing that held much appeal. Maybe I was lacking in imagination? LOL.
Today we’ve got two flat-screens — a 65″ and a 43-er. If it wasn’t for Tom, I could happily live without one.
Those are nice sizes. π
We have one large, flat screen TV. No playing in that box. I don’t need a TV but my Dave does so I watch things with him. When he isn’t home it doesn’t get turned on. Our daughter did like the box our refrigerator came in when she was young; we cut a door and windows into it and turned it into a play house.
One of our neighbors made a playhouse out of a big box when her daughter and Kaitlin were little. It was a sweet thing to do. I imagine your daughter loved hers too.
In our first house and after color came to television we bought our first TV console that would have been in a rather large box but was not delivered to us in one. I don’t recall having large enough boxes to play in when I was a child either.
I remember orange crates that we used for pretend furniture, but nothing we could crawl into. We built forts instead.
fridge/freezer or washing machine might come in a box – but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen one inside. The guys who bought my new f/f got it out of the box in the driveway. The guy with the rangehood deconstructed it and put in my recycle bin – (our bins are fairly big).
I don’t have a TV, so I’ve no idea about those kind of boxes!
however a few months ago I ordered 15 storage boxes and they came in a whopping big cardboard box…
That’s good they took care of the big boxes for you. Ours aren’t usually that big, but I cut them up and take them down to the “cardboard only” dumpster at the end of our parking lot. It’s a nice addition.
